🧠 AI Just Got Smarter Than Me… and That’s a Good Thing

We hear a lot about Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and the coming Singularity. Fascinating? Sure.

But mostly, that’s not what matters.

Here’s what does matter:

AI is already smarter than most of us.
And I’m not mad about it—I’m grateful.

Just yesterday, I worked on a proposal follow-up to a consulting session that, in the past, would’ve taken me at least three focused hours. With ChatGPT, it took about 20 minutes (no exaggeration)—and the result was better than anything I would’ve done on my own. It even recommended strategies I hadn’t thought of yet.

It wasn’t just faster.
It was smarter.
It made me better.
And, most importantly, it helped me serve my client WAY better.

This kind of AI+person collaboration is what we mean by “human in the loop.”

It’s not about ceding control to machines. It’s about taking agency and using AI as a lever—to boost your creativity, expand your strategic thinking, and even enhance your self-awareness.

For me, this new AI edge shows up everywhere—from proposal writing to dream work.

Yes, dream work. I use AI there too. And often, it surprises me with insights that delightfully help me expand my inner view.

🧭 Here’s the Real Shift:

AI is no longer just a tool.
It’s a creative partner—and the sooner you start treating it like one, the more momentum you’ll build.

But you only get that power by getting your hands dirty.

  • Prompt more.
  • Experiment more.
  • Start now.

Because waiting?
Waiting is how people get left behind.
Worse—it’s how smart, creative people end up shooting themselves in the foot by clinging to old ways while the new world speeds past… while someone else gets that gig you want because they’ve got an AI thought partner.

☕️ If This Is Your Moment: Let’s Talk

🎯 The #1 Prompting Mistake (and How to Fix It)

🌀 Prompt More. Discover More.

There’s this old MTV slogan I’ve always loved:
“Too much is never enough.”

When it comes to prompting AI, that’s exactly how I feel.

Most people underuse AI tools.
They don’t prompt enough.
They don’t play enough.
They assume one-and-done is good enough.

But it’s not.

Here’s what I’ve learned from prompting more freely:

🌀 Dream journaling ignites a wellspring of deep insights

✍️ Copywriting feels lighter, faster, more efficient — even fun

🎨 Image generation unlocks fresh visual concepts and new, seemingly unimaginable design ideas

🧭 Strategic planning becomes empowered, more intuitive, and well-aligned

This is not about being a “prompt engineer.” It’s about embracing creative discovery.

Lee Doyle, one of my Prompted to Create course beta testers, told me the course’s experiential exercises were something she didn’t even know she needed. But she took the leap — and came away with new clarity and inspiration.

And that’s the magic:
When you prompt more, you discover more.
Not just outputs — insights.

So let me ask you:

What’s holding you back from experimenting more?
Where could a little creative chutzpah take you next?

If you’re curious to go deeper…

From AI Chaos to Creative Control

How One Marketer Reclaimed Her Voice—And You Can Too

We’ve all had our “head in the sand” moments with AI. This is true even for smart, experienced marketers.

That’s why this testimonial about my course, “Prompted to Create,” from marketing strategist & writer Lee Doyle is important:

“As someone from an old-school marketing background who once wanted to bury my head in the sand about AI, Prompted to Create put me firmly back in the driver’s seat. Jon distills the overwhelming flood of AI tools into clear, engaging steps—fast enough to stay exciting, slow enough to stick—so I can amplify my creative value without losing my voice.”

There’s a lot packed in there, including:
✅ The overwhelm is real.
✅ The fear of losing your voice is real.
✅ But so is the path forward.

If you’ve been feeling frozen or behind, here’s your reminder:

💡 You don’t need to know everything to take one step forward.
🎯 You do need a starting point that respects your creativity and your humanity.
🛠️ AI isn’t a threat to creators—it’s a tool. And when used right, it makes your human voice louder, clearer, and more valuable than ever.

This is what sets my approach in Prompted to Create apart. It’s about how to use AI with a clear emphasis on how to create with it, in a way that remains aligned with human-first marketing.

🎥⚡ These 2 Creative AI Videos Just Made The Future of Video Production a Whole Lot Weirder 😲🎨

🎬⚡ AI Just Flipped the Script on Video Production—Are You Watching? 👀

Every now and then, creative video people make me grin like a kid who just found a new kind of candy. Last week, this happened twice!

💰🚫 No Budget Commercial

This spec commercial for Liquid Death was created entirely with Google’s Veo 3 video AI. No budget. No brand involvement. Just a few bold creatives with great taste and a twisted sense of humor.

This is a prime example of a new rule of creative work:

AI is the paintbrush. Human taste is the art.

This wasn’t “push a button, get magic.” It was a vision, shaped and styled by humans, brought to life with AI.

As Gary Vaynerchuk says, today’s creative work is not about being a mason laying bricks—it’s about being the architect. We humans are the only ones with the taste necessary to create good art.

🎬 On a More Apocalyptic Note…

Post Scarcity Blues, by Matt Zien, is part sci-fi short, part indie music video. It’s satirical. It’s strange. It’s incisively sharp. And yes, it’s an AI-powered music video production. (It also might make you even more nervous about the future.)

Similarly, the most impressive thing about this video is not that it was made with AI. The most impressive thing is that Matt Zien had the vision, the guts, and the taste to pull it off. (And, yes, it would not have been possible without AI or a friggin’ huge budget. 💸 )

🚌 It’s Time to Get On the AI Bus

Both of these videos prove the same point:
AI isn’t replacing creatives—it’s replacing excuses.

The tools are here. The possibilities are wide open. What matters now is whether you’re willing to play. To learn. To experiment. To create.

Don’t just scroll and admire.
Make something. Try something. Get messy. Have fun.

🎯 This is your invitation to stop watching from the sidelines and get on the AI bus.

If you’re ready to explore, I’m here to help.

I’m offering 1:1 sessions and my “Prompted to Create” online course for marketers.

With both offers, we roll up our sleeves and actually create with these tools.

The course is now in beta testing and coming very soon!

With joy and creative chutzpah! 🚀
