I’ve been creating new forms of media for over 40 years. Yet, one thing remains constant over four decades: The technology is being innovated at such an astounding pace that few businesses are able to keep up.

That’s where I come in because my work “spans the Grand Canyon Gap between people and technology.” More than just helping you put the latest digital marketing tools to work for you, I will show you how to use them as a “megaphone” that amplifies your authentic value in order to make more meaningful, human connections with your prospects, tribe, and clients/customers.

How I Got Here

In the early ‘70’s, at a time when broadcasting was truly broad, I created the first narrowcast radio network. I banded together FM rock, listener-supported and college radio stations with a news feed targeted specifically for the anti-war movement.

In the ‘80’s, I was lucky enough to be part of the early days of cable TV (the next generation of targeted media) and founded the creative services department at the USA Network.

Launching my own company in 1985, The Leland Company won a series of corporate and educational video awards and, among other things, collaborated with The Hunger Project to help the world better understand the distinction between famine and chronic persistent hunger. That video was shown worldwide and translated into 13 languages.

Then, as I transitioned from New York to California, I wrote, produced and directed two vision-of-the-future videos for Pacific Bell that illuminated the coming of broadband communications, and my interactive TV prototype for Oracle was featured at Disney World’s Epcot Center.

When digital video was born in the ‘90’s, I helped educate video professionals with two unique, educational video productions that illuminated the desktop video production revolution.

It’s been a fascinating ride. And in many ways, thanks to the Web, the best is yet to come. YouTube is now delivering on the promises of those early days of digital video and video on social media is now opening doors for small business marketing that no one could have dreamed possible. How much fun is that!?
